Athens, Greece [12/5/2026] — Following its premiere at the Venice Film Festival last September, where it received the Europa Cinemas Label Award, and its acclaimed presentation at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, where it stood out by winning seven awards, BEARCAVE is finally arriving in Greek cinemas.

Just ahead of its official theatrical release on May 21, the film by Stergios Dinopoulos and Chrysianna Papadaki celebrated its official premiere on Monday, May 11, at the open-air Cine Flery in Athens.

CINOBO and the directors welcomed the film’s cast and crew, as well as members of the artistic community, journalists, and friends of Greek cinema. Among those attending the official premiere were Themis Bazaka, Giorgos Pyrpassopoulos, Tonia Sotiropoulou, Dimitris Kitsos, Thanos Lekkas, Konstantinos Georgopoulos, Elsa Lekakou, Giorgos Gousis, and many more figures from the worlds of cinema and media.

Stergios Dinopoulos and Chrysianna Papadaki introduced their debut feature film and invited alongside them the two leading actresses of the story, Chara Kyriazi and Pamela Oikonomaki, as well as the entire team working both in front of and behind the camera.

Before the screening, drag queen Chraja opened the evening with an energetic DJ set, while guests enjoyed chilled Fischer beer. At the same time, FOU Begnis Bakehome treated attendees to traditional “plastos,” a local pie that plays a “starring role” in the film itself.

BEARCAVE will be released exclusively in cinemas on May 21 by CINOBO.
